Interchurch Social Services has established a prominent network in central Ohio with four locations in Knox County, one of which is conveniently located in downtown Mount Vernon. The mission of the nonprofit is to provide meals and other necessities for families going through times of hardship. Interchurch Social Services extends beyond supplying resources to those in need and creates a supportive space for community members to connect with one another.
We always have a pot of coffee on up front and we have a few, who tend to be a little bit older, who don’t have family in the area and we become their family. They come in, have a cup of coffee and sit and chat, visit with each other and then go on their way.
